We decided to homeschool our 1st child when he was 3 years old. By the time he turned 4, he tested at a 2nd grade level for reading and a year ahead on math.
There is nothing to lose by homeschooling at a young age since they wouldn’t be in school anyway.

Parents: please consider this decision carefully. I was homeschooled k-12 by smart, loving parents and it was the worst thing they ever did to me. It will screw you over for life. you might think it is a success because your kids get good grades or seem smart. In the long run they are much worse off. Let me know if you have any questions.

We pulled our 8 …
We pulled our 8 year-old out of public school. That was the best decision we ever made. He’s doing so much better. His self esteem is up. He’s has stronger, closer friendships. It’s not for everyone, but it’s been a blessing for us.

see my reply to the other person below. hopefully that answers some of ur questions. and getting good grades is not a bad thing if you want to be a scientist who sits in a lab all day and has no interaction with other people, but if you want to be able to relate to other people then you need social interaction from a young age…and im not talking about homeschool event where the a bunch of awkward kids discuss molecular biology and quantum mechanics. homeschooling is just a flawed system.

hey. its really hard to express in words what exactly homeschooling does to you. homeschool parents always claim that their kids are getting adequate “socialization”, and growing up, i always believed i did, but now i realize that no amount of “co-op classes” can make up to the every day interaction with other kids. as a result of this, i feel separated from the rest of my generation. i lack the intangible communication skills that are developed thru healthy social interaction.

Well you could ellaborate a little bit. You painted a broad picture but failed to give any reasoning. How were you raised by smart loving parents yet the worst thing they EVER did to you was homeschool you? How are you screwed over for life? How is getting good grades and seeming smart going to make you much worse off? I really am just curious.

Don’t homeschool your children, they will be socially deprived etc.
