Ron Paul on Homeschooling

Ron Paul is a strong proponent for homeschooling and has consistently voted to remove government jurisdiction from public schools, knowing that control should be put back into the hands of the parents. His viewpoints on homeschooling are encouraging.  BTW, this isn’t meant to be a political statement, just more homeschooling info. :-)

The more and more I learn about Paul, the more I realize that he was right about most things. I did not vote for him, and in fact I thought he was out of touch, but I was wrong. I was NOT home schooled, and I will probably be working for the public school system after grad school. But I know many people who were home schooled well, and they are impressive. It can be done right and the right should be protected. I like the Paul’s tax credit idea better than vouchers too.

    children who are …
children who are homeschooled, never loose the love for learning, they learn at their own pace, learning what interests them. They make great students for they are interested in the subjects they choose to partake in. A pity the government will steal children for homeschooling them as another excuse to keep their quota for kids in care, making up any excuse. The governments agenda is to control the people, not educate the people.

    Why do intelligent …
Why do intelligent people agree that “swearing” is wrong? To say that a syllable or set of them hurts you somehow or offends you is just arbitrary and stupid. Maybe you should do some research into the English church banning words in an attempt to wipe cultures they didnt agree with from the history books.

    I apologize for …
I apologize for offending you. I AM a sinner and NEVER claimed to be perfect. Because of your profuse use of profanity (the rudeness I earlier alluded to), I assumed I could never offend you. I set out to bash the unnecessary cussing.

    haha, it seems that …
haha, it seems that not even “YOU”(‘re) free of this so-called lack of respect for others — my reference point is the fact that you called me an idiot.

why bash or whine about a society for doing things that you yourself do? or why bash or whine about people being flawed in their grammar usage when you yourself are not perfect in that area?

(watch this miracle: i agree with you about the dangers of assumption.)

    I appreciate your …
I appreciate your ability to communicate respectfully and without profanity. My point was the rudeness so commonly displayed these days. It IS ok for people to disagree, but they should still be respectful towards one another in their disagreement. And no, I didn’t google. I looked it up in Webster’s. I never claimed to have it ready and in total recall…YOU made the assumption. Do you know the saying about assuming?

    blah blah blah blah …
blah blah blah blah blah — you have no argument and so attack my choice of not capitalizing.

you were wrong to say that verbs cannot be used as adjectives. you preach to people about proper grammar and yet have holes in your grammar. either be absolutely immaculate or keep your mouth shut.

    Truly, your …
Truly, your vocabulary, along with your ability to capitalize, is impressive. Perhaps you cannot find the shift key. Where would I be in life without you and YOUR pompous head? I’m forever indebted to you for setting me straight. Surely anyone else who reads your comments is equally impressed by your command of English.

oh wow, you can use …
oh wow, you can use google — what a scholar!

since you’re so efficient at looking up and then pretending as if you have it ready and at total recall if need be in that pompous head of yours, why don’t you do yourself a favor and educate yourself on how verbs can be used as adjectives. google participle adjectives and then shut the up

  12. by paustrid, on September 19 2009 @ 4:29 pm

    Thanks for the …
Thanks for the lesson, m-skate. Ironically, idiom and idiot are derived from the Greek word “idios”, meaning private. “Idioma” meant any peculiarity or unique feature, especially of language, such as your use of it. Here’s the most interesting part! Webster’s definition of “idiot” is a mentally deficient person, with intelligence in the lowest measurable range, being unable to guard against common dangers and incapable of learning connected speech. It described you perfectly!

    You’ve demonstrated …
You’ve demonstrated, by your choice of adjectives, that publicly schooled children are rude and lack respect for others. is a verb, an action word. Didn’t you learn grammar in your public school? They, like you, cannot converse intelligently. They, like you, are the ones lacking in social skill due to the fact that they spend most of their day with their illiterate peers instead of conversing with intelligent adults. Thanks for providing and example of one who’s publicly schooled.

We shall see who ultimately is the fool.

    I disagree. I am a …
I disagree. I am a productive product of public school, but times have changed. I have chosen to homeschool my children so that they can concentrate on learning without all the distractions that occur in public school.

    the only thing …
the only thing school teaches you is how to obey orders.

    1:45 Good point! …
1:45 Good point! The argument of how homeschooling will cause the kids to be withdrawn and not be socialable is complete and utter bullshit! I went to a public school all of my youth. I was a very shy kid. Being in that setting didn’t do jack for me. The public school system was and is just a cavalcade of bullies, gang bangers, dead heads, and status-oriented bitches/blow job queens who run counter to developing the sort of positive social skills that a one-on-one homeschool session can.

  18. by pullybrit, on September 19 2009 @ 4:29 pm

    Simply put, most …
Simply put, most people who are against home schooling are scared! They see the changes coming (i.e., the threats to the teachers’ unions, the government power base, etc.). Homeschooling produces a citizenry that’s capble of critical thinking and self reliance. Such qualities run counter to the aims of a government that wants to be the master of an otherwise free people’s destiny via the narcotic haze of social welfare programs.

Homeschooling: now that’s CHANGE in which I can believe!

  19. by TheDrkKnght1988, on September 19 2009 @ 4:29 pm

    Many people lack …
Many people lack critical thinking. and, you may need to learn one!
School is where you learn! Homeschooling’s no exception! here where you can learn in your own way. Public schools are all about control, and the elites and the feds want you to be in there. Plus, they add socialization as a tool for success. Why? It’s not part of learning. The elites and Department of Education is all to blame for this! All money, all socialization, all control.
    Ron Paul’s my professor!

    Another benefit to …
Another benefit to being homeschooled: CPS won’t be able to kidnap because you come to school with a bruise. This happens all the time. They don’t even bother to tell the parents – they wait until Friday afternoon cause court is closed on the weekend.

    i got homeschooled …
i got homeschooled for the first 7 years of my life and then went into high school.

guess what?i went into the exact same year i would have been in should i have been schooled my whole life.

school is really basic plus you don’t learn about the rest of the world while there.

    Except most …
Except most homeschool kids have more interaction due to the churches they attend, co-op projects, etc.

You think we’re making fools out of ourselves because we think we know what our kids need better than some bureaucrat in Washington ?
